what we believe

We believe the Bible, both Old and New Testament, to be the inspired, infallible Word of God and the final authority for all matters of faith and life.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ; He is fully God and fully man, and in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His intercession for us, and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe that man was created in the image of God.  Man rebelled against His Creator, and fell into sin.  As a result, man became spiritually dead and totally unwilling and incapable of seeking after God.  Christ, the Son of God, died for sinners on the cross of Calvary, providing full and complete forgiveness of the sins for His people.  No other work can provide for forgiveness of sins, and no addition can be made to the completed and finished work of Christ.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit to regenerate sinful men bringing them new life , to grant gifts of faith and repentance, to believe in Christ alone and turn from sin in love for God, to indwell, to guide, to instruct, to fill and empower believers for godly living and works of service.  Good works that bring glory to God flow from saving faith and are not to be considered necessary to the gaining of justification, which is by God's grace through faith alone, so that no man can boast.

We believe Jesus Christ established His Church, which is not a building or institution but the company of true believers, who have been redeemed by the blood of Christ to love and live as God intended.  Christ also calls them His bride who is ready for His return by yielding to His Word as found in the Bible through the power of His Spirit.  Christ also calls believers His Body whose members are to love and encourage one another.
